Project description
The complexity of new mobile networks (5G and beyond) is growing exponentially, so the cost of optimisation is sometimes the main constraint on the deployment of the most innovative applications in these new networks. The introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into telecommunications networks will improve the performance of mobile networks, increase efficiency, reduce costs and decrease the vulnerability of network management. Self-healing networks, which automatically implement reconfiguration procedures upon detection of certain (Key Performance Indicators, KPIs) of poor monitoring quality, are crucial for creating more reliable applications. Finally, automatic network reconfiguration to adapt available capacity to the current needs of applications will drastically increase network utilisation efficiency at lower energy costs. Furthermore, companies must possess the skills and tools to make proper use of the vast amount of information and the associated wide-ranging use cases beyond Big Data and Data Lakes by applying analytical techniques that can bring them added value from a business perspective, for which they must work on their data management policies. In the face of these challenges, the project aims to develop intelligent network management techniques and control functions, such as self-configuring networks, application-aware networks, AI mechanisms for autonomous and adaptive management of future mobile networks, and intelligent business analytics capabilities. To this end, we will define specific use cases in Intelligent 5G and scenarios such as the Moving Object Scenario.
