Description
A system built on the PN-EN ISO 50001:2018-09 standard improves energy efficiency while maintaining compliance with legal and other requirements that an organization must meet.
This standard is based on the European Standard EN 16001:2009, Energy management systems – Requirements and application guidelines (the Polish edition is: PN-EN 16001:2009) and the energy management system in force in the United States.
An organization implementing an energy management system implements its own energy policy and identifies particularly energy-intensive areas of its operations. This information, in relation to the so-called baseline energy use established in the standard, allows for the identification of necessary actions to increase energy management efficiency. It also indirectly contributes to environmental protection.
An energy management system according to the PN-EN ISO 50001:2018-09 standard can be implemented in various organizations, regardless of size, type, or industry. It is particularly useful for organizations that consume significant amounts of energy, such as companies in the construction, transportation, etc., or those required to meet requirements for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Benefits of maintaining the PN-EN ISO 50001:2018-09 certification
• effective energy management within the organization by identifying and controlling energy-intensive areas of activity,
• reduced energy expenditure,
• reduced operating costs,
• reduced greenhouse gas emissions,
• compliance with legal requirements regarding greenhouse gas emissions,
• compliance with legal requirements regarding greenhouse gas emissions.
